WHAT ARE THE KEY FEATURES OF SPORT FOR LIFE!?

- It is based at the Test or International Cricket Grounds and other major stadiums where national and international sporting heroes play
- An education hub is established at the stadium, including a state-of-the-art IT suite, classroom space and access to sport practice areas
- Activities take place after school, at weekends and during school holidays and involve sport, education (the curriculum material used is often sport-based), healthy lifestyle and citizenship training. It targets groups of children - boys and girls aged 10-16 - who are underperforming at school and talented young sportspeople who need educational and lifestyle support to fulfil their potential
- It is managed in each country by a not-for-profit company or Trust specially created for the purpose. Directors or Trustees are drawn from the education, sport and business sectors at a senior level
- A national Operations Director is appointed, typically a former teacher or businessman. In turn, they appoint professional teachers and coaches to run the sessions
- It has government support in each operating country, but is not dependent on local governments funding the programme. It raises funds principally from private and charitable sectors
- We form partnerships with many local bodies, who support us in kind by providing, for example, transport, food or equipment
- The stadium hub supports similar community programmes elsewhere in the country
- Co-ordination, fundraising and project management across the whole programme is provided by London-based Live Sport Community Investment Company Limited
